Legal Support of the "Hero's Compass" Program

Legal assistance was aimed at creating a legal foundation for the successful adaptation of veterans and the protection of their social guarantees in the following areas:

Military-Legal Audit and Discharge

  • Financial control: Development of verification algorithms for payments upon discharge (compensation for unused leave, combat days, clothing allowance).

  • Pension provision: Creation of a verification mechanism for "complex length of service" taking into account specific periods (captivity, combat actions, paratrooping).

  • Social rights: Support of discharge procedures for individuals with the status of former prisoners of war and processing of three-month health rehabilitation leaves with the right to travel abroad.

Rehabilitation and Support After Injuries

  • Medical-legal support: Step-by-step support during the passage of the Military Medical Commission and Expert teams for assessing the daily functioning of a person for the correct determination of the degree of loss of working capacity without the risk of re-traumatization.

  • Material assistance: Counseling on receiving repeated financial aid and analyzing the grounds for injury-related payments in the amount of 1 million UAH.

Information and Administrative Support

  • Provided optimization of payments during numerous transfers between military units and determined the priority of submitting documents for the indexation of monetary allowance.

  • Provided assistance in correcting errors in personnel and medical documents.

  • Collected 5 resumes of participants and updated presentation materials regarding professional development opportunities for veterans.

Operational Activity and Support of the "DTCare UA" CF

Full legal and logistical support of humanitarian and internal processes of the organization was ensured (work of lawyer Olha Prysenko):

Logistics and Customs Clearance of Humanitarian Cargo

  • Completed the full cycle of clearing cargo from a warehouse in Poland to the customs border of Ukraine.

  • The cargo was registered in the state registry on the Automated humanitarian aid registration system platform; a customs declaration was drafted and submitted.

  • Ensured communication with carriers and the warehouse in Kyiv. Conducted 3 on-site inspections (June 16, June 18, and June 22) with actual accounting, inventory description, photo, and video documentation of the received property.

Contractual Work and Partnership

  • Drafted and agreed upon the terms of a service agreement (Interpipe); conducted negotiations regarding the execution of payment.

    • NGO "POMAHAIEM" (including two revisions of amendments to the act)

    • BO "Insha Zhinka" (Another Woman), "Kvadrat" Platform

Internal Compliance and International Communication

  • Legislative analysis: Prepared a legal base regarding the implementation of electronic signatures on forms by retreat participants; developed a template application for trademark registration.

  • Process optimization: Combined and edited the foundation's online forms (consent to personal data processing, photo/video publication, liability waiver) into a unified system.

  • International direction: Drafted an official invitation letter for Courtney Robson to visit Ukraine.

Monthly Summary

Based on the results of June, the legal service demonstrated high efficiency. In the "Hero's Compass" direction, the work of the lawyers allowed veterans to avoid bureaucratic errors, minimize stress when interacting with government agencies, and receive clear financial and social benefits. In the area of foundation administration, a system for accounting for humanitarian aid was successfully established, partnership relations with communities were secured, and the legal integrity of DTCare's internal documentation was ensured.
