Working Towards a Greener Future

Promoting an Eco-centric Industry

The effects of global warming are already visible in the natural disasters spanning across the globe. “In order to preserve a habitable climate, we need to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions to net 0 by 2050,” the UN states. Building a decarbonized economy is one big leap, or rather, a series of smaller actions, closer to a greener, more sustainable future. We have aimed to do our part in curbing climate change and the effects of global warming since our founding in 2019.

An eco-centric and sustainable industry refers to manufacturing products through economically-sound processes which minimize negative environmental impacts while conserving natural resources and energy. To realize generational change, a core objective of DTCare since our founding in 2019, and work towards a greener future, we encourage students in DTCare’s Education Sponsorship Program to consider eco-centric professions post school completion.

A greener global economy is no longer optional as the alternative has become life-threatening.

Every year human or anthropogenic activity, including agriculture and land use, results in an estimated 43 billion tons of CO2 being emitted. The world is experiencing unprecedented fires, droughts, floods, and other natural disasters that are linked to global warming and increasingly volatile weather patterns.

Countries and industry leaders need to make drastic changes to go green before anthropogenic damage to the planet becomes irreversible. A low carbon economy is starting to emerge on the premise that the global economy needs to adapt to result in lower levels of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) compared to today’s carbon-intensive economy.

GHG emissions are mainly driven by anthropogenic activity which is the greatest accelerator of climate change. A fully instated low-carbon economy can be seen as a major step towards a zero-carbon economy.
