DTCare Delivers Vital Relief Aid and Mental Health Support to War-Stricken Ukraine
Since the onset of the war in Ukraine in early 2022, DTCare has been actively and systematically involved in sending cargoes of emergency relief supplies, building distribution networks, and providing psychological support for Ukrainian veterans, veteran families, and civilians. DTCare partnered with multiple organizations in Ukraine and Poland that continue to enable our humanitarian response to aid Ukrainians. In the initial stage of DTCare's Ukrainian Crisis Relief Campaign, we joined forces with the ZHP (Polish Scouting and Guiding Association) to distribute essential supplies to reception and transit centers in Poland and across the Ukrainian-Polish border to our Ukrainian partners. In light of the scale of the crisis in Ukraine, DTCare established a permanent office in Ukraine. After the finalization of DTCare UA's registration in mid-2022, we launched a broader effort to provide critical support throughout the conflict and help Ukraine rebuild. With the help of our partners, donors, and volunteers, we sent 23 humanitarian shipments (18 air freight and 5 ocean freight shipments) to Ukraine and Poland in 2022 and 16 humanitarian shipments (6 air freight and 10 ocean freight shipments) to Ukraine in 2023. In total, DTCare has sent close to a million dollars worth of over 280,000 pounds of humanitarian supplies to assist Ukrainian citizens.
Leveraging our vast network of partners and their robust distribution channels, along with our proficient US shipping and logistical capabilities, DTCare has successfully distributed countless supplies. As the ongoing conflict intensifies and the demand for humanitarian aid increases, DTCare remains steadfast in our determination to deliver vital assistance and backing.
Our experienced team can arrange, store, and transport goods according to international standards, adhering to customs laws in Ukraine. We procure and distribute essential supplies, including medical supplies, MREs, feminine hygiene supplies, hygiene items, and more, in accordance with DTCare’s do-no-harm policy and the UN’s international aid delivery standards.
DTCare has partnered with local organizations to provide free art therapy specifically for vulnerable groups such as religious minorities, women, orphaned children, veterans, and victims of abuse. DTCare also extends its reach to isolated communities through mobile teams of art therapists and operates a play therapy program for children in Mykolaiv. To ensure the continual development and support of Ukrainian therapists, DTCare offers free professional development and clinical supervision in partnership with international experts.
The ongoing War in Ukraine has resulted in severe and long-lasting environmental damage. Infrastructure such as power plants, factories, transportation systems, and bridges have been destroyed, releasing pollutants into the air, soil, and water, causing immense land destruction and the displacement of millions of people. A significant portion of Ukraine's protected areas, including 600 animal and 750 plant species, have been negatively impacted, with over 300 million square meters of land being polluted. In addition, there has been a rise in deforestation and environmental neglect, with 1,000 forest fires contributing to 33 million tons of CO2 emissions.
